Qwest settles patent suit, to pay undisclosed sum for license

(Reuters) - Qwest Communications International Inc Q.N said it settled a patent lawsuit with Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing L.P. and would pay an undisclosed sum for a nonexclusive license for interactive voice applications patented by Katz.

The patents cover interactive technology including automated forms of customer service, securities trading, prepaid services, telephone conferences, registration, home shopping, and other applications, Qwest said in a statement.
