Jan 25 (Reuters) - Medical device maker Allergan Inc (AGN.N) said, in response to a U.S. consumer group's allegation, that no death had ever been caused by the Botox cosmetic.
Sef Kurstjens, Allergan's chief medical officer, said there had never been a single reported death where a casual link to the Botox cosmetic was established, in the entire history of the treatment.
The Botox injection is famous for smoothing facial wrinkles but also has approved medical uses such as treating cervical dystonia, or rigid neck muscles. (Reporting by Sharangdhar Limaye in Bangalore; Editing by Pratish Narayanan)
