Tyson to use new label for chicken raised without antibiotics
Dec 20 (Reuters) - Tyson Foods Inc (TSN.N: Quotazione) said it agreed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to introduce more informative labeling for its "raised without antibiotics" chicken program.
Tyson will be phasing in the new labeling language on its packages over the next several months, the company said in a statement.
Tyson began seeking modified wording in November, after USDA notified its original label had been mistakenly approved by the government since the company uses ionophores as an ingredient in its chicken feed. (Reporting by Dhanya Skariachan in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
