Papua New Guinea LNG project signs up Osaka Gas

SYDNEY Dec 22 (Reuters) - Developers of Papua New Guinea's $15 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) project have signed a 20-year deal to sell LNG to Japanese utility Osaka Gas Co Ltd (9532.T: Quotazione), operator Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N: Quotazione) said on Tuesday.

The agreement is to provide annually about 1.5 million tonnes of LNG for the life of the contract, said Exxon Mobil.

Exxon Mobil and its partners, including Oil Search (OSH.AX: Quotazione) and Santos (STO.AX: Quotazione), recently gave final investment approval for the project. (Reporting by Mark Bendeich; Editing by Jonathan Standing)
