BERLIN, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Consumer prices harmonised to compare with other
European Union countries rose by 0.1 percent on the year in December and
increased by 0.1 percent on the month, preliminary data from the Federal
Statistics Office showed on Monday. 
On a non-harmonised basis, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent on the year and were
unchanged month-on-month.
The consensus forecasts in a Reuters poll were for harmonised consumer prices to
rise 0.2 percent on the year and on the month in December, and non-harmonised
prices to rise 0.2 percent on the month and 0.3 percent on the year.
