French consumer prices rose 0.6 percent in February, giving a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.1 percent, EU-harmonised data released on Thursday from the INSEE national statistics office showed. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast an increase of 0.5 percent month-on-month and an increase of 1.0 year-on-year.
