Francia, fiducia consumatori a 85 (stime 84) da 84 novembre-Insee

PARIS, Jan 7 (Reuters) - French consumer confidence rose in 
December to 85 from 84 in November, slightly beating 
expectations, data from the official INSEE statistics agency 
showed on Tuesday. 
    A Reuters poll of 15 economists had an average forecast 84. 
The highest forecast was 85 and the lowest was 83. 
    A breakdown of the data showed that households were less 
concerned in the key holiday shopping month of December about 
unemployment than in November. 
    The number of households considering that it was suitable 
time to make big purchases was unchanged for the third month in 
a row, according to INSEE's monthly survey.

 The index, which is not closely correlated to consumer spending
trends, hit an all-time low in May and June 2013 of 79. The
highest level since the survey was conducted on a monthly basis
was 125 in January 2001.
