NEW YORK Aug 26 (Reuters) - Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers' final August consumer sentiment rose to 55.7 from 54.9 in the preliminary August report, according to a report released on Friday.

Economists in a Reuters survey expected a final August sentiment reading of 56.0.
