PARIS, March 31 (Reuters) - French consumer spending rose 0.6
percent in February from January, surpassing expectations and
exceeding a previous peak reached in February 2011, data
released on Thursday by the INSEE statistics agency showed.
The average forecast in a Reuters poll of 19 economists was for
a flat reading. Estimates ranged from -0.8 percent to 0.5
